Counseling & Mental Health Centre (CMHC)

CMHC is a safe place for ATU members who want to confabulate with us. The reason is that CMHC believes in secrecy and the secrets will be safe with us. CMHC psychologists and consultants are specialists in the field. The aim is helping others to improve their mental ability. Moreover, this centre participates in the Health Monitoring Plan in order to examine mental health of ATU members. Our basic responsibility is to present the following services:

• Counseling and psychology services
• Psychiatric services
• Social Work services
• Psychometric services
• Scientific advice for those having thesis

ATU members can set an appointment by calling +9821 4473 7645 or visit the Centre in person. The CMHC is available for ATU members from Saturday to Wednesday, 8:00 to 15:30.

Psychiatric Services

Psychiatric services are available for students, staff and their family members. The most important services are treating the following disorders:

Services for Adults

• Mood Depressive Disorder
• Anxiety Disorders
• Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
• Psychosomatic Disorder
• Sleep Disorders
• Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Amnesic Disorder
• Anorexia, Bulimia Nervosa
• Sexual Disorder

Services for Children and Adolescents

• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Anxiety Disorders
• Aggression
• Sleep Disorder

Two psychiatrists are currently cooperating with us in providing psychiatry services to ATU members. Dr Saljoughian is available on Sundays from 12:00 to 15:00, and Dr Eslami can visit you on Wednesdays from 09:00 to 12:00.

Social Work Services

• Filing social records for clients;
• Following up clients' social, economical and familial conditions
• Making contact with family, professors and university's officials
• Investigating and identifying effective environmental factors
• Making continuous communication with consultant, psychologist and psychiatrist
• Identifying support resources inside and outside of ATU
• Following up conditional and underachievement students
• Following up newly admitted risky students

Social workers are Ms Hedayati, available on Saturdays and Sundays, and Ms Moazedi, available on Wednesdays.
